IMAGINE PEACE - WINNING ESSAY

Imagine Peace

Peace-freedom. There is nothing better in life than to live in peace: to be able to sleep, grow up, and walk freely and anywhere. Many people have given their lives for the peace we have today. Many children have lived in fear and anxiety, hungry and bare-footed. While they were falling asleep with tears in their eyes, planes were flying over their heads throwing bombs. Lots of children have died too. In our country we live in peace and freedom and we feel free like birds.

Every day we hear on the news about different wars. And although we are all aware of the consequences the wars never seem to stop. However children’s hope for happiness never stops too. There are millions of children in the world who are different in colour and religion but have the same wish: to have a peaceful childhood. Is there any child in this world who does not like that?

It seems that only children are aware of the consequences of wars. Although very young, they are the ones who know the meaning of peace the best. That’s why I challenge all the children in this world no matter of the colour of their skin to be brave and strong and spread only messages of peace and love. We, the children, say: “we are all the same and all we need is love”.

Peace is like a shining sun which rays spread love and warm my heart. It is by breathing that every human being, every child and every plant feels the aura of freedom. Peace opens new perspectives and brings light to my life. Peace is magic created out of feelings and warm kisses in a child’s heart. We live in a merciless era when peace is like a dewdrop. We, the children, resist all the evil forces that want to take away our peace, which is so precious to us.
